THE SOUTH BROOKLYN ART CAMP

This is the mantra we follow at The South Brooklyn Art Camp. Our environment provides a safe space where children are free to express themselves artistically, without fear of any judgement. Students follow a curriculum, but they are encouraged to explore their own ideas inspired by the projects at hand. Our mission is to increase artistic knowledge and foster confidence in technical skills, empowering children to pursue their natural creative talent.
Visual Arts has become more important now than ever in the development of young minds. Not only is it an important channel of self-expression, it helps children enhance their fine motor and visual-spatial skills, and promotes critical thinking and decision making in all other areas of life. Art teaches children discipline, patience, and helps them boost their self-esteem. Along with these advantages, there is also a great correlation between regular participation in art and academic achievement.

Previous Design Work
Students will be instructed by Miss Rupsha, who has been working in the field of Art & Design since 1998, beginning her career as a graphic designer and moving on to fashion design, which she has pursued for a decade. In 2004, she took on free-lance projects in interior design and since then, has continued to remain working in the field on a project basis.
In 2013, she began volunteering her free time in local private and public schools and at the public library, creating workshops for the elementary aged children of the community. Due to popular demand, Miss Rupsha opened weekend classes in 2018. In the summer of 2021, she opened her summer camp, which eventually turned into a year long program.
